Mobile EthOS Gets Upgrade To Go Live
Access to mobile has been the holy grail many web3 products and games have been chasing.
EthOS, a native mobile operating system that integrates with the Ethereum blockchain, has launched a major new release!

Say hello to ethOS 2.1!
This new release comes with new features like a System Wallet secure enclave, a mint app, a light node indicator, and easier chain switching.
Markus Haas, the co-founder of Ethereum Phone, says this update has all the necessary features for a "stable and secure minting experience."
What you should know
EthOS 2.1 has a native eth wallet and blockchain capabilities. You cut a lot of steps to mint as well. Like instant NFT minting a picture, you take with your phone.
It connects with the blockchain roughly the same way as most wallets do, through a light node that only downloads block headers containing a summary of the information within the blocks.
It integrates the little-known Extensible Message Transport Protocol (XMTP). This open protocol and network provide secure, private web3 messaging, with an interoperable inbox accessible through any client app built with XMTP. DMs on the blockchain 😍.
The OS is a fork of a fork of Android (very meta), called LineageOS. So ethOS is open source too, and available on GitHub.
For now, you can install the OS on an OEM Unlocked Google Pixel 3, 3XL, or 5a until the Ethereum Phone (ΞPhone) is launched. Once launched, the infrastructure will become crypto-native from start to finish.

With XMTP, ethOS opens up the possibility of a decentralized chat app, giving web3 identities an interoperable inbox accessible from any XMTP client app. Hopefully, making decentralized messaging currently being pursued by players like Unstoppable to be less of a walled garden.
Ev.io and Fractal Partnership
Ev.io is shaking things up for their latest tournament format with a new idea: Proof of Play (PoP) collectibles!
Exciting news to share! @play_evio & #Fractal will update the tournament format this month, allowing players to earn PoP collectibles. Top 10% players will get Platinum PoPs, valuable in the Deathmatch Earn event. #nftgame

Here's how it works:
Players connect their Fractal Wallet and play Ev.io in any game mode throughout the month.
Then they are awarded PoP collectibles based on their rankings. The higher their rank, the more valuable the collectible – with Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze up for grabs.
The top 10% of players will receive Platinum PoPs, which can be worth their weight in SOL tokens during the next Deathmatch Earn event.
But that's not all – players can earn more e-points if they possess Ev NFTs, giving them a leg up in the rankings.
And if they accumulate enough e-points, they can even convert them into SOL tokens.
At the end of the season, only the most recent Platinum PoP holders will have access to bonus payouts in the Deathmatch Earn event.

There's more...
Players can also level up their collectibles by burning three lower-tier PoPs to craft one higher-tier PoP. Want to create a Platinum PoP? You’ll need 27 Bronze PoPs (or their equivalent) to make it happen.
If players aren't interested in keeping their PoPs, they can be traded on the Fractal marketplace and carried over across seasons, ensuring their value remains intact.

The PoP collectibles sound interesting. 👀 Keeping our eyes on how this plays out.
