Does anyone still believe in Crypto?

GM Frens! A rough week with the apparent collapse of FTX.

Is anyone still a believer in crypto?

We still are, and it seems Skale's CEO Jack O'Holleran agrees.

Skale CEO thinks AAA is "peanuts" to GameFi

Big claims were made by Jack O’Holleran, CEO of Skale, (a multichain Ethereum-native network that powers Web3 games) when speaking about the AAA game studio world this week. In an interview with Coin Telegraph, the CEO compared the future of the Web3 Gaming Space to the AAA space of today, calling the Web2 AAA space "Peanuts to Web3". The Skale CEO seems bullish on the Web3 Gaming sector, and why shouldn't he be?

Blockchain and Metaverse titles raised a whopping $1.3 billion raised in Q2 according to Dapp Radar. Web3 games accounted for nearly 50% of all blockchain activity across 50 chains in Q2, according to Dapp Radar. An astonishing 912,000 Daily Unique Active Wallets interacted with Web3 game contracts in September alone đŸ¤¯.

Finding a sustainable GameFi model still plagues many developers in the Web3 space. After the recent economic challenges with the Axie Infinities ecosystem, it seems no Web3 game has got it quite right yet. User experience still suffers from many basic problems like paying gas fees. Not only the fees but often the complexity of buying, owning and trading NFTs, can be enough to turn away the uninitiated gamer.

"Charging users fees every time they transact or trigger a smart contract creates a disincentive to play"

Jack O’Holleran, CEO of Skale

Web3 gaming and the larger NFT space still have a long way to go to find their place in the traditional world. Yet, numbers don't lie, and it seems that we are well on our way to a better gaming experience.
