Gala Games Relaunching $GALA Token

One of the giants in web3 gaming, Gala Games, is relaunching its token.

What we know

  • They are sunsetting the $GALA token to launch the $GALA V2 (very original, right?). Once V2 goes live, the original would seize to be supported.

  • Holders of the $GALA token would receive 1:1 of the V2 token.

  • The new token would have a burn mechanism that they expect would lead to the value of the token increasing over time. The ETH play here?

  • A snapshot of current holders of the $GALA token and an airdrop of the new token is planned to begin on May 15, 2023.

Lootbringer's take

This is one of those Ethereum Merge moments. Gala has to knock the upgrade and transition out of the park. If not, their token could get crushed.

Merit Circle DAO Announces Its Chain

Merit Circle DAO, once upon a time a guild for P2E games, is continuing the general trend of gaming guilds pivoting their business models.

Now they are taking the next step in the pivot by announcing their own blockchain called Beam.

What is Beam?

Beam is a network focused on gaming built on Avalanche's subnets.

Everything we know

  • The network allows game devs easily deploy their games on-chain. Beam would cover things like smart contracts, asset management, gas optimized transactions, oracles for web2 games and marketplaces.

  • Devs can expect that the network would have minimal fees, quick transactions and the security of Avalanche.

  • The $MC token would be used as the gas token on the network.

  • Beam would launch with games and other products from day one.

  • But they are keeping the circle of projects that can deploy on the network tight for now by only allowing whitelisted addresses to deploy new smart contracts. Token holders can propose addresses Beam allows.

  • Some of the titles and products that are confirmed to launch on the network are Trial Xtreme, Walker World, Hash Rush, Edenhorde Eclipse, and Sphere. Some of these projects may not launch on day one.

  • An AMM would also be launched to enable users to provide liquidity and trade project tokens on the network.

EverdreamSoft Unveils New Collection, ChainChronicles

EverdreamSoft, the developer of the first tokenized TCG called Spell of Genesis (SoG), is launching a new collectible NFT called ChainChronicles.

ChainChronicles is a subscription series of NFTs that features monthly releases of collectible cards representing significant events in the blockchain universe. Definitely paying homage to SoG here. 

The subscription series offers three different packs with various benefits and rewards, including SoG in-game benefits and rare vintage NFTs. These NFTs would allow collectors to own exclusive artwork and vintage cards that represent these events.

First Look: Wildcard Alliance

Playful Studios (creator of Words With Friends and Lucky’s Tale) recently raised $46 million for its MOBA, Wildcard Alliance.

These folks have been working on this game off and on for five years. Now they're ready to share it with the world.
